Daytona Beach Concert Band

Daytona Beach Concert Band welcomes brass, woodwind, and percussion instrument players to join. The ensemble holds practice every Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. New members are always welcome. The band is available for performance scheduling. The ensemble's new conductor is Dr. James T. Madeja, a distinguished trumpet player, conductor, and music educator with more than three decades of teaching experience at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. Dr. Madeja has led bands, taught instrumental music education and trumpet, and mentored numerous young musicians. His ensembles have performed for Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush. He is a founding member of both the Orchestra of Northern New York and the Northern Symphonic Winds, and was part of the Potsdam Brass Quintet for 35 years. He has toured nationally with Keith Brion's New Sousa Band and conducted Skyline Brass. Dr. Madeja's excellence has been recognized with the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
