San Francisco Pianist Dan is widely recognized in the San Francisco bay area as one of the most in-demand pianists around. From jazz, rock, pop, and classical piano, there is not a style that Dan cannot play. He has performed concerts at many of SF's finest venues including Yoshi's, SF Jazz, Freight & Salvage, Piedmont Piano, Fillmore Jazz Festival, SF Jazz Festival, and San Jose Jazz Festival. Dan has done extensive touring and recording with musicians like blues legend John Lee Hooker, jazz alto saxophone icon Lee Konitz from Miles Davis' Birth of the Cool, and Grammy Award winning violinist Mads Tolling. He won the 14th IMA Independent Music Award for Best Jazz w/Vocals album and was a 2015 John Lennon songwriting competition finalist. Dan was Music Director and co-writer for The Lost American Jazzbook, a unique, award-winning ensemble performing original music and lyrics. He has been part of many Stanford Jazz Institute summer programs as a teacher and instructor and was named a Kennedy Center Jazz Ambassador through the US State Department in 1998.
